Most jobs on openers from this era come down to one of three things: the drive gear (plastic, and it strips after enough cycles), the capacitor on the motor, or the circuit board itself. If it's a gear or capacitor, that's a part-and-labor job we can usually close out same visit. A dead board on a unit this old is a different call - some manufacturers from the mid-90s have stopped making replacement boards entirely, and at that point we're talking opener replacement rather than repair, because chasing a part that doesn't exist anymore isn't a service we can promise. We'll tell you straight which category your unit falls into before any work starts, not after.
